Thunderstorms!!

Arrived in The Gambia to tremendous heat and humidity punctuated by spectacular storms, mostly at night. The thunder and lightening has to be seen to be believed! All the locals know when the rain is coming, I look at the sky and just think lovely blue sky, no chance! Invariably the time they have predicted is the time the rain comes. It falls from the sky like a barrel bursting, sometimes several barrels! After the rain you get a brief respite from the humidity but not for long. It’s hard to sleep, and I look particularly attractive constantly drenched in sweat, but I still love this place!
